Avo Choc Mousse

Treat your loved one to this healthy #vegan treat!


Not only is the smooth, rich, velvety taste seem addictive but it is also full of nutritional benefits. Packed with vitamin E from the avo, healthy #MUFAs from the coconut plus cocao is full of magnesium and tryptophan an amino acids which your body coverts into serotonin. No wonder this makes you feel so good!


This mousse also has a secret ingredient.... it's rich in iron, calcium, magnesium & zinc, as well as polyphenols (a type of antioxidant) & has a beautiful sweet caramel flavour due to the natural sugars which are balanced out with the high protein & fibre content making it a low GI sweetener. It may even contain anti-inflammatory properties. Can you guess what it it ?


So whether your making this for a loved one or friend or better yet, whip it up for yourself you'll thank yourself for it.


INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 ripe Avocado's

  • 150ml Coconut cream

  • 1 Tbsp Cocao powder

  • 1-2 Tbsp Maybe syrup

  • Pinch salt flakes

  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon

  • 1 heaped tsp Mesquite powder (the secret ingredient)

  • 1 Tbsp melted coconut oil


METHOD:

  1. Scoop out the fresh from the avocado's & place them into a bowl with all the other ingredients, except the melted coconut oil

  2. Whip the mixture either using a whisk or in a blender with a whipping function until it's all combined

  3. Add the melted coconut oil and whip again to blend it through

  4. Divide the mixture into bowls (2 for a BIG serving but it can easily be made into 4 smaller portions)

  5. Place in the fridge, while you get on to more important things


When your ready to serve top with all your favourite seasonal toppings. I used my home-made nut granola (recipe coming soon!), shaved organic dark choc & fresh berries, oh and some edible flowers to make it fancy but totally optional!
